Isn't it funny how sometimes some of the most influential people you've ever met were standing right in front of you for a long time?
My travel companions to Greece, Kaitlin and Kayla, seemed like mere figments of my imagination as we planned our upcoming excursion to Greece. I had had classes with Kaitlin, a year older than me in my same major at Iowa State (Event Management), but had never had a full on conversation until our study abroad orientation. I had never met Kayla until we were boarding an international flight. From watching us travel together, you would have thought we knew each other our whole lives.
I always admired Kaitlin in my classes. She was witty, hilarious, and was always super stylish. In fact, I was intimidated by her. Turns out, she thought the same about me. It's really quite silly how it took traveling 6,000 miles away from home to connect with a now good friend who I've been in close proximity to for the last 3 years. It has been quite freaky all of the similarities we have to each other.
Missing these two chicas (even though one is literally right down the street from me right now). Can't wait to reunite in a couple of weeks. I'm not sure Exeter will ever be ready for us.
xoxo,
Leah Joy
